Founded by the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Mary, this hillside facility integrates education for underprivileged children with elderly day care and long-term residential services. More than a care center, the campus is envisioned as a place of healing, growth, and connection with nature.
Design Concept
Rooted in simplicity and serenity, the design emphasizes purity and calm. The all-white buildings, nestled along the hillside, evoke a sacred, contemplative atmosphere.
Spatial Arrangement
The chapel—composed of three sweeping curved walls—sits at the highest point of the site, overlooking the campus. Learning and dormitory spaces stretch along the ridge with panoramic views toward the Taichung basin. A large multipurpose hall supports group gatherings and diverse activities.
To the rear of the campus lies the long-term care zone, which includes a day care and senior daycare center as well as a 51-unit residential complex for elderly residents seeking an active, supported lifestyle.
