The large-scale production facilities and high-tech architectural image of the Wuhan YMTC Technology Campus symbolize a modern cluster of advanced technology buildings. Its design emphasizes modular expansion, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and strong corporate identity, representing a key milestone in China's independent semiconductor manufacturing development.

Master plan

ADB

The entire site spans approximately 1.31 km². After allocating space for three wafer fabs and supporting facilities, the integrated office and R&D building occupies a slender, slightly curved parcel shaped by the campus-wide master plan.

The building is segmented into multiple volumes, connected by recessed balconies and tiered green terraces. A large circular opening at the roofline, accentuated by lighting at night, creates a striking and rhythmic visual identity.

The office areas are clad in glass and aluminum panels, giving the massing a sleek and contemporary look. The visitor entrance features a full-height glass envelope, enhancing the grandeur and transparency of the main lobby.

OS

In the architectural layout, optimal building length and depth help connect the FAB and R&D office wings, forming a continuous and fluid work environment. The east–west elevations include staggered stepped terraces that add spatial depth and create semi-outdoor leisure platforms for interaction and informal dialogue.

The first and second floors use a modular recessed surface design that allows for indirect daylighting, expressing the international, contemporary, iconic, and dynamic character of the high-tech industry.

Future Pavilion

The Future Pavilion serves as the main recreation and wellness center for staff, featuring large indoor sports facilities, a 3,500–6,000-seat auditorium, an 800-seat lecture hall, a 10-lane Olympic-standard swimming pool, and a variety of leisure and dining spaces.

The building surfaces echo those of the ADB, using glass and aluminum cladding to convey a modern architectural language that reflects current design trends and construction techniques.
