This project is the redevelopment of Taipei World Trade Center Hall 3. Not only will it become an integral part of Taipei’s skyline, but it also showcases new possibilities for contemporary urban architecture through its distinctive design concept and innovative construction techniques.
A21 is located in Taipei’s Xinyi Planning District and is a high-rise mixed-use building combining office and commercial functions. The building features a cylindrical design with modern glass curtain walls and open spaces, making it a key urban landmark that shapes a unique and fluid city skyline in Xinyi.
To preserve the visual experience of Taipei 101's New Year's fireworks, the site lies within the sightline between City Hall Plaza and Taipei 101. This public interest was considered early in the design. The tower was ultimately placed at the site’s northeast corner with a cylindrical form to minimize obstruction and achieve harmony between the building and city events.
The building rises 43 floors above ground and 3 below, housing premium offices and upscale dining spaces. The exterior features cylindrical glass curtain walls with an open-air ring at the base that breaks up the visual massiveness.
The exterior glass has a visible light reflectance below 13% to avoid glare pollution, and it displays a glazed texture at night. The attached three-story circular commercial building, “Green Hill,” features a rooftop landscaped platform with plants, expected to become Xinyi's flagship location for upscale dining.
