This project involves the redevelopment of Taipei World Trade Center’s Exhibition Hall 3, set to become a prominent feature of Taipei’s skyline. With its distinctive design concept and innovative construction techniques, it exemplifies new possibilities in contemporary urban architecture.

Situated within the Xinyi Planning District, A21 is a high-rise mixed-use building that integrates office and retail functions. Its cylindrical form, clad in modern glass curtain walls, incorporates open spaces that enhance transparency and lightness. Serving as a vital urban landmark in Xinyi, A21 contributes a unique silhouette to the city’s skyline.

The Taipei 101 New Year’s Eve fireworks, following Sydney’s celebration by time zone, have become one of the world’s most anticipated city events. To preserve the unobstructed sightline from Taipei City Hall Plaza toward Taipei 101 during the annual festivities, the project site is located within this crucial visual corridor. From the outset, public interest was prioritized in the design, leading to a strategic compromise: positioning the tower mass at the northeast corner of the site and adopting a cylindrical form to minimize visual obstruction. This approach fosters a harmonious coexistence between the building and the city’s vibrant celebrations.

The tower rises 43 stories above ground with three basement levels, accommodating premium office spaces and upscale dining venues. Its glass-clad cylindrical façade is accented at the base by an open-air sky corridor that breaks the visual heft of the large volume.

The exterior glass limits visible light reflectance to under 13%, mitigating glare pollution while presenting a lustrous, glazed appearance at night. Adjacent to the tower stands a three-story circular commercial building—Green Echo Hill—featuring rooftop landscaped terraces and greenery, poised to become Xinyi District’s flagship destination for fine dining.
