This project is Taiwan's first national biomedical research facility, serving as a key hub for interdisciplinary life science research. It integrates genomics, proteomics, and precision medicine to advance translational research and biotechnology development.
The spatial layout separates research offices from laboratories. The research zone features a double-layer low-emissivity glass curtain wall, offering researchers ample daylight and expansive views. Balconies are placed between the two glass layers, with planters and greenery providing spaces for informal breaks and relaxation.
By limiting direct sunlight penetration, the exterior design contributes to reduced reliance on air conditioning.
The laboratory façades are clad with precast concrete panels and have minimal openings to enhance energy efficiency. This creates a solid, grounded appearance that contrasts with the light-filled and transparent research areas.
