Tamsui Shalun Beach was once an important historical recreation site in northern Taiwan. However, due to a series of safety incidents, the beach was closed, resulting in a lack of large-scale public leisure spaces in the region. Through the planning of this project, the goal is to revitalize the use of public land, improve the surrounding landscape, and provide open spaces for the public to enjoy and relax.
Tamsui Shalun Cultural and Creative Park
Design Concept
The building's form is inspired by the flowing motion of ocean waves, with a central light-filled atrium that brings in abundant daylight. The exterior is simple, echoing the contrast of black and white sea foam. Staircases and external corridors crisscross throughout the structure.
Undulating grassy slopes connect the building seamlessly to the outdoor garden, splash pool, and landscape restaurant.
