The Judicial Academy and Taipei High Administrative Court was conceived as a modern hub for judicial education and administrative justice, reinforcing Taiwan’s commitment to legal professionalism and judicial training. Completed in 2013, the 12-story facility integrates courtrooms and administrative offices within a dignified yet highly functional environment that supports both judicial processes and professional development.
Jointly developed by the Taipei High Administrative Court and the Judicial Academy, the project responds to the Court’s urgent need for dedicated facilities while co-locating it with the Institute of Judicial Studies. Designed to fulfill both adjudicative and educational functions, the above-ground spaces are organized into two independent buildings according to program, while the subterranean levels are shared.
The architectural layout follows a symmetrical configuration, symbolizing the judicial ideals of fairness and justice—a visual metaphor of balance. The façade features a combination of stone cladding and sweeping curved glass curtain walls. The podium, occupying the first to third floors, houses the courtrooms. A central curved form and vertical lines lend the building a solemn yet contemporary presence.
The Judicial Academy includes a four-story academic podium where a central atrium brings daylight into the teaching spaces. Transparent elevators and a large open staircase connecting the second to fourth floors define the circulation spine, creating an open and interactive learning atmosphere. The adjacent 12-story tower accommodates residential facilities, offering complete living amenities for both faculty and trainees.
